The medieval market square, the city hall and the
scenic Old Main Bridge provide a beautiful setting for this traditional
Christmas Market. The illuminated fortress Marienberg with walls and
gates stand mightily over the city of Würzburg.
On the market square and in the gothic Church of St. Mary, famous for
its unique statues by Tilman Riemenschneider, Christmas concerts are
held daily.
Handicrafts, spices and household items can be bought at the market and
on every corner there are lots of tasty specialities to be tried.
Nothing tastes better than a cup of hot mulled wine on a cold winter day
and if you are lucky, a light snowfall transforms the surrounding
vineyards into a Winter Wonderland. |
