Christmas Market of Nations
From the heart of the historical old town, on the Market Square through
the Marktstrasse over the Oberstrasse to the world- known Drosselgasse
onto the Rheinstrasse and back to the Market Square, Rüdesheim's
Christmas Market circles the old town. This year, there will be 124
festively decorated Christmas stands on the Christmas Markets with lots
of handmade arts and crafts which are mostly done before your eyes,
candles, decorations, wood figures, wood carvings, glass engravings, "schwibbögen"
arched candles, mangers, pewter casters and dolls. Of course, festive
dishes from the region and the famous Rüdesheim mulled wine will be
provided.
What is special from all products offered on the Christmas Market is
that they will be handed out to guests from 12 nations with their own
land's custom. On different days (Programme in the Christmas Market
newspaper) world-known stars, from radio and television will perform. On
the Market Square, Germany´s biggest nativity scene (life- size figures)
will stand on about 150 square metres of ground. Beside it is our well
known Children's Christmas Market made by children for the children.
Everyday at 6 pm Rüdesheim's Christ- Child comes with new surprises.
Rüdesheim during pre-Christmas is a lovely destination for you and your
family and friends. The small town with a big name, as well as an
attractive atmosphere and a worldwide reputation. A visit to the
Christmas Market of Nations is always a worthwhile journey.
