Hinterzarten is a stylish – and typical – Black Forest
health resort and lies at an elevation of 850 to 1200
metres at the foot of the Feldberg, the highest point
(1493 metres) in the whole region. It is also an ideal
winter sports centre and particularly renowned for its
skiing. Hinterzarten is especially proud of its
reputation for hospitality, and visitors will find a
whole range of delicious food, from the local cooking
and regional wines to the latest word in Nouvelle
Cuisine.
This is also an ideal base for exploring the whole of
the Black Forest, along with the Upper Rhine, Lake
Constance and even Alsace, which is normally only an
